Eure Exzellenzen,

Es gibt keine Klimakrise. Ein globales Netzwerk von mehr als 500 sachkundigen und erfahrenen Wissenschaftlern und Fachleuten im Bereich des Klimas und verwandter Bereiche hat die Ehre, an Ihre Exzellenzen die beigefügte Europäische Klimaerklärung zu richten, deren Unterzeichner die nationalen Botschafter sind.

Die allgemein zirkulierenden Klimamodelle, auf denen die internationale Politik derzeit beruht, sind für ihren Zweck ungeeignet. Deshalb ist es sowohl grausam als auch unklug, sich für die Verschwendung von Billionen auf der Grundlage der Ergebnisse solcher unreifen Modelle einzusetzen. Die derzeitige Klimapolitik untergräbt sinnlos das Wirtschaftssystem und gefährdet Leben in Ländern, denen der Zugang zu erschwinglicher, kontinuierlicher elektrischer Energie verwehrt ist.

Wir fordern Sie auf, eine Klimapolitik zu verfolgen, die auf solider Wissenschaft, realistischer Ökonomie und echter Sorge um diejenigen basiert, die durch kostspielige, aber unnötige Versuche zur Linderung geschädigt werden. Wir bitten Sie, die Erklärung auf die Tagesordnung Ihrer bevorstehenden New Yorker Sitzung zu setzen.

Wir laden Sie auch ein, mit uns ein konstruktives Treffen auf hoher Ebene zwischen Weltklasse-Wissenschaftlern auf beiden Seiten der Klimadebatte Anfang 2020 zu organisieren. Das Treffen wird dem soliden und alten Prinzip nicht weniger solider Wissenschaft als vielmehr der natürlichen Gerechtigkeit Geltung verschaffen, dass beide Seiten vollständig und fair gehört werden sollten. Audiatur et altera pars!

Natürliche wie auch anthropogene Faktoren verursachen eine Erwärmung


Das geologische Archiv zeigt, dass das Erdklima so lange variiert hat, wie es den Planeten schon gibt, mit natürlichen Kalt- und Warmphasen. Erst 1850 endete die Kleine Eiszeit. Daher ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass wir jetzt eine Phase der Erwärmung erleben.


Die Erwärmung ist viel langsamer als vorhergesagt

Die Welt hat sich mit weniger als der Hälfte der ursprünglich vorhergesagten Rate erwärmt, und mit weniger als der Hälfte der Rate, die aufgrund von anthropogener Aktivität und Strahlungsungleichgewicht zu erwarten ist. Es sagt uns, dass wir weit davon entfernt sind, den Klimawandel zu verstehen.

 


Klimapolitik stützt sich auf unzureichende Modelle

Klimamodelle haben viele Mängel und sind als politische Instrumente nicht im Entferntesten plausibel. Außerdem übertreiben sie höchstwahrscheinlich die Wirkung von Treibhausgasen wie CO2. Darüber hinaus ignorieren sie die Tatsache, dass die Anreicherung der Atmosphäre mit CO2 von Vorteil ist.


CO2 ist pflanzliche Nahrung, die Grundlage allen Lebens auf der Erde

CO2 ist kein Schadstoff. Es ist für alles Leben auf der Erde unerlässlich. Photosynthese ist ein Segen. Mehr CO2 ist für die Natur von Vorteil und schont die Erde: Zusätzliches CO2 in der Luft hat das Wachstum der globalen pflanzlichen Biomasse gefördert. Es ist auch gut für die Landwirtschaft, da es die Erträge der Pflanzen weltweit erhöht.

 


Die globale Erwärmung hat die Zahl der Naturkatastrophen nicht erhöht

Es gibt keine statistischen Belege dafür, dass die globale Erwärmung Hurrikane, Überschwemmungen, Dürren und ähnliche Naturkatastrophen verstärkt oder häufiger verursacht. CO2-Minderungsmaßnahmen sind jedoch ebenso schädlich wie kostspielig. So töten Windkraftanlagen Vögel und Fledermäuse, und Palmölplantagen zerstören die Biodiversität der Regenwälder.

 


Die Politik muss die wissenschaftlichen und wirtschaftlichen Realitäten respektieren

Es gibt keine Klimakrise. Es gibt also keinen Grund für Panik und Alarm. Wir lehnen die für 2050 vorgeschlagene schädliche und unrealistische Politik der CO2-Null-Netto-Politik entschieden ab. Wenn sich bessere Ansätze ergeben, und das werden sie sicherlich auch, haben wir genügend Zeit zum Nachdenken und Anpassen. Ziel der internationalen Politik sollte es sein, jederzeit und weltweit zuverlässige und erschwingliche Energie bereitzustellen.
